5 Latest Releases To Watch On Netflix, Hotstar, Zee5, Hoichoi This Week

The upcoming third week of January 2023 will witness some exciting new films, series, and instalments of your favorite series. From Siddharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna starrer much-awaited Mission Majnu to HBO’s second biggest debut and IMDb’s highest-rated show ever The Last of Us, here are five exciting OTT releases this week for you to binge-watch.

1> Mission Majnu (Netflix- January 20):-
The Siddharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna starrer film Mission Majnu, which was announced in December 2020 and went on floors in 2021, was scheduled to release in June 2022. But, it got delayed and is now set to premiere on Netflix on January 20, 2023. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film is set in the 1970s telling the tale of a RAW agent who leads a covert operation on Pakistani soil.

2> Chhatriwali (Zee5- January 20)
Starring Rakul Preet Singh, Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushik, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Rajesh Tailang, the upcoming romantic comedy film Chhatriwali intends to promote the importance of male contraception and sex education. The film, set in Karnal, follows an unemployed chemistry expert, Sanya Dhingra, who is looking for a job while utilizing her skills to fight societal taboos and educate the youth about sex.

3> Indu Season 2 (Hoichoi- January 20):-
Directed by Sayantan Ghosal, the Bengali thriller series Indu stars Ishaa Saha, Manali Dey, Chandranibha Mukherjee, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Manasi Sinha, and Payel De. The series, that released in October 2021, is coming back with its second season on the Bengali OTT platform Hoichoi on January 20. The series revolves around Indu (Saha) and the dark secrets of her new in-law’s family and the second season will unfold whether Indu’s process of unraveling the secrets be a threat to her own life in return.

4> The Last of Us (Disney+ Hotstar- January 23):-
The latest HBO post-apocalyptic series The Last of Us is based on the 2013 video game of the same name. The series stars Pedro Pascal who plays Joel, a smuggler who escorts teenager Ellie (Bella Ramsey) throughout the post-apocalyptic United States. Within a week of its release, the series has already broken records and become the highest-rated series even on IMDb and HBO’s second biggest debut after House of Dragons. The first episode of the series aired on Disney+ Hotstar on January 15 and the second is set to air on January 23.

5> Fauda: Season 4 (Netflix- January 20):-
Fauda is an Israeli television series that first premiered in February 2015 that tells the story based on the experiences of the creators in the Israeli Defence Forces. In 2020, the makers of the series announced that it would be back with its fourth season which is set to stream on Netflix on January 20.
