Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi and Tamil films. She was born on November 1, 1973. In 1994, she won the Miss India and Miss World pageants. She made her acting debut in the 1997 Tamil film “Iruvar”, directed by Mani Ratnam. She made her Bollywood debut with the 1997 film “Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya”. She had success in 1998 with the S. Shankar directed Tamil film “Jeans”. In 1999, she received her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” and her second Filmfare Award in the same category with the Subhash Ghai directed film “Taal”. In 2009, she was awarded the Padma Shri for her contributions to Indian cinema, and she was also awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2012. Apart from Filmfare Award she received several awards like Anandalok Puraskar Awards, Big Star Entertainment Awards, Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards, IIFA Awards, Screen Awards, Stardust Awards, Zee Cine Awards, and many more.
