Brahmastra vs KGF 2 vs RRR opening weekend collection. Which film earned more?
Brahmastra, starring the Power Couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead, was released in the theatres on September 9. It was made on a huge budget of about Rs 300 crore. The film witnessed a great run at the box office on Day 1 as it minted a total amount of Rs 75 crore globally. The film is right on track to emerge as a blockbuster. In its opening weekend, Brahmastra earned Rs 225 crore worldwide. Let’s compare it with RRR and KGF: Chapter 2’s collection.
BRAHMASTRA’S BOX OFFICE COLLECTION:-
Amid back-to-back flops in Bollywood and the boycott trend, Brahmastra managed to perform phenomenally great. As per the opening weekend collection mentioned by Box Office Worldwide, Brahmastra has garnered Rs 225 crore worldwide. The film was released on 5100 screens in India and 3800 screens in overseas with a total of 8900 screens.
Brahmastra also scored the highest nonholiday opening number all India beating Ranbir Kapoor’s earlier blockbuster Sanju (Rs 120 crore) and Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 114.93 crore).
Brahmastra is a superhero drama that revolves around a simpleton who shares a special bond with fire. It features Alia Bhatt as the leading lady and marks her first collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor. The cast includes Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy, and Amitabh Bachchan. It is directed by Ayaan Mukerji. The storyline of Brahmastra follows Shiva, a DJ, who learns about his strange connection with the element of fire. While he emerges as the Agni Astra himself, the film follows his strange connection with the Brahmastra, a supernatural weapon that is said to be able to destroy the universe. On the other hand, Junoon, the pawn of the dark forces, is also on a quest to get hold of the Brahmastra.
KGF: CHAPTER 2 OPENING WEEKEND COLLECTION:-
Ever since its release on April 14, Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 made waves at the box office collections. The film was released in multiple languages and received a positive response from the audience. The makers also hinted at a possible sequel to KGF: Chapter 2. Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the film was postponed multiple times. The revenge drama had a strong opening weekend collection at the box office. According to trade reports, the film earned Rs 193 crore worldwide in its opening weekend. Its lifetime collection was approx. Rs 434.70 crore.
KGF: Chapter 2 is a revenge drama, written and directed by Prashanth Neel. The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film features Yash, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles. Ravi Basrur has composed the music for the film.

But between Brahmastra and KGF 2, RRR set the box office on fire! SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead recorded a jaw-dropping box office collection of Rs 500 crore worldwide in its opening weekend collection. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and revealed, “#RRR is setting new BENCHMARKS 500 crores [and counting] WORLDWIDE GBOC *opening weekend* biz EXTRAORDINARY Monday on the cards #SSRajamouli brings back glory of INDIAN CINEMA. RRR holds the record for the highest opening weekend box office collection domestically. The opening day box office collection had beaten Baahubali 2’s record. RRR had opened to a whopping Rs 223 crore, six crores more than Baahubali 2’s Rs 217 crore worldwide box office collection of day 1.
Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR is a war drama set in the pre-Independence era. The film brought together Jr NTR and Ram Charan for the first time. The film was made on a whopping budget of Rs 450 crore by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody played important roles in the film.
