Divya Spandana, also known by her stage name Ramya, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Kannada and Tamil films. She was born on November 29, 1982. She made her debut in the Kannada film industry with the 2003 film “Abhi” and in the Tamil film industry with the 2004 film “Kuththu”. She received several awards, including Udaya Film Awards, Filmfare Awards South, Suvarna Film Awards, Karnataka State Film Awards, and SIIMA Awards. In 2012, she joined the Indian National Congress (INC), and in 2013, she contested and won the election from Mandya constituency in Karnataka and became a Member of Parliament. Her notable work in the Kannada film industry includes “Excuse Me” (2003), “Kanti” (2004), “Aakash” (2005), “Gowramma” (2005), “Amrithadhare” (2005), “Dattha” (2006), “Jothe Jotheyali” (2006), “Arasu” (2007), “Meravanige” (2008), “Kiccha Huccha” (2010), “Sanju Weds Geetha” (2011), “Dandam Dashagunam” (2011), “Sidlingu” (2012), “Lucky” (2012), “Katari Veera Surasundarangi” (2012), “Aryan” (2014), and “Nagarahavu” (2016). She made a cameo appearance in the 2023 film “Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare”.
