‘RRR deserves to be in Best Film category,’ Shekhar Kapur slams Golden Globes for THIS reason

Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR made India proud by bagging two nominations at the Golden Globes 2023, which is a pre-cursor to the Oscars 2023. However, filmmaker and actor Shekhar Kapur is upset with the Golden Globes for a reason. He took to Twitter to reveal that RRR deserves a place in the ‘Best Picture category. He further added that he does not understand why the Jr NTR, Ram Charan-starrer should be categorized as a Best Picture in the Non-English section.

SHEKHAR KAPUR BLASTS GOLDEN GLOBES FOR THIS REASON:-

On December 12, the Golden Globes 2023 nominations were out. RRR was nominated for Best Original Song and Best Picture in Non-English language. Director Shekhar Kapur, however, felt angry that RRR had been placed in the wrong category. In his tweet, he mentioned that RRR deserves to be in the Best Picture category. He wrote, “The path to the Oscars for RRR becomes clearer. But I still don’t get why the Golden Globes hold on to a category called ‘Best film in a non-English language. RRR deserves to be in the best film category. Period. Congratulations @ssrajamouli (sic).”

Written by Vijayendra Prasad and directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR features Ram Charan and Jr NTR as Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, respectively. The film, produced by DVV Danayya, follows a fictional story based on the lives of the two Telugu freedom fighters. The film has been submitted in 14 categories at the Academy Awards 2023.
