Thanos Admits One Marvel Hero Is Immune to the Infinity Stones

Marvel’s Thanos is known for constantly searching for the six Infinity Stones, which grant the wielder nigh-unlimited power – but one superhero exists who is in effect a living weakness to the Infinity Stones and to Thanos’ plans. The stones have existed in comics for decades but truly became famous after 1991’s Infinity Gauntlet crossover; part of the story was adapted into the MCU’s Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. But Marvel omitted one character from both films who plays a central role in most Infinity Stones-related plots: Adam Warlock.

The six Infinity Stones each represent a fundamental aspect of the Marvel Universe – Power, Space, Time, Mind, Reality, and Soul – and any one of them can be used to inflict mass chaos upon a world. When combined within the Infinity Gauntlet device, the six stones offer nothing less than the power of a virtual God, able to shape the entire universe to their will. That was Thanos’ desire during the Infinity Gauntlet crossover, but not because he wished to kill half the population of the universe as he did in Avengers: Infinity War. His actions were all a ploy to court Death, who in the Marvel Universe is an actual entity (and one with whom Thanos is deeply in love).

In 1991’s Infinity Gauntlet #6, written by Jim Starlin with art by Ron Lim, Nebula has gained possession of the Infinity Gauntlet and the Infinity Stones embedded inside. Nebula uses the power of the Stones to imprison her foster father Thanos, but unknown to her, she is approached by Adam Warlock. Even armed with the power of a God, Nebula cannot see Warlock – and the Silver Surfer, Doctor Strange and Thanos himself all recognize this when they think “He stands outside the realms of chaos and order! Nebula is unaware of Warlock’s presence.”

Adam Warlock Is The Best Weapon Against The Infinity Stones:-
Adam Warlock is a unique being in the Marvel Universe. Warlock was created to be an absolute perfect being, and was granted the Soul Stone early on in his life. This allows him to see the souls of other beings, and as a side-effect, the other stones cannot sense his presence. To clarify, they can still affect him if wielded against him (so Adam Warlock has as much to fear from Thanos as everyone else does in the Marvel Universe), but he possesses a unique advantage over anyone who uses the stones: the awareness they grant does not extend to sensing Adam Warlock.

Despite his importance to most Infinity Stones-centric stories, Adam Warlock only rarely appears in comics; his cosmic nature usually prevents him from interacting with other Earthbound heroes in events like Judgment Day or Devil’s Reign. Nevertheless, Adam Warlock is a powerful fighter that Thanos must consider whenever the latter decides to gather the stones again. Adam Warlock doesn’t always appear in comics, but when he does, he is one of the few heroes whom Thanos truly fears in single combat.
