‘Thunivu’ vs ‘Varisu’: Ajith-Vijay fans fight outside Chennai cinema hall, tear movie posters | WATCH
A major ruckus erupted outside a cinema hall in Chennai after fans of superstars Ajith Kumar and Vijay indulged in a fight and tore posters of ‘Thunivu’ and ‘Varisu’ as both the films clashed with each other at the box office. The so-called rivals clashed at the box office after 9 years as ‘Varisu’ and ‘Thunivu’ released together in theatres on January 11 for the occasion of Pongal. Video from outside a cinema hall in Chennai showed people scaling the hoardings and tearing the posters of the films. Some of them even tried to set the poster ablaze. A similar situation was witnessed at other locations as well where police even had to lathi-charge at Vijay-Ajith fans.
‘Thunivu’ vs ‘Varisu’:-
It was a sleepless night for Ajith fans as ‘Thunivu’ opened earlier than ‘Varisu’ across locations, with the show beginning at 1 AM IST. Ajith fans gathered in theatres and celebrated with drums, dance, cheering, and songs to welcome their favorite star. The FDFS of the films were scheduled at 1 am and 4 am.
Ajith and Manju Warrier starrer ‘Thunivu’ is a bank heist thriller directed by H Vinoth. Produced by Boney Kapoor, the film also stars John Kokken and Samuthirakani in important roles. The music for the movie is composed by Ghibran.
Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Varisu’ is a family drama directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Produced by Dil Raju, the film also stars Sarathkumar, Shaam, Prabhu, Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, Samyuktha, Sangeetha Krish, and Khushboo. The music for the movie is composed by S Thaman.
