Will ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ Return for Season 2? Production Studio Issues Update After Netflix Smash Hit

After incredible ratings both domestically and internationally, the production company for Agent Kim Reactivated is currently in talks for renewal for the second season. While nothing has been confirmed yet, the K-drama’s renewal looks imminent. Here’s everything we know about Agent Kim Reactivated season 2 on Netflix.
Agent Kim Reactivated is an internationally licensed South Korean Netflix Original action-thriller series directed by Lee Seung Young (Wonderful World) and written by screenwriter Nam Dae Joong (Love Reset), and is an adaptation of the popular webtoon Manager Kim by author Toy. 
“Single father, company manager, and former black-ops member, Agent Kim lived an ordinary life until his daughter, Min-ji, went missing. After discovering his daughter was kidnapped, Agent Kim turns merciless and sets out for information. He is hell-bent on rescuing his daughter  by any means necessary, even if it means destroying everything and everyone standing in his path.”

While renewal has yet to be confirmed, fans will be delighted to know that talks are ongoing to renew the series for a second season.
Studio S released a statement regarding the discussion for renewal:
“Thanks to the tremendous love and support, we are currently holding positive discussions regarding the production of Season 2. As Season 1 has only just concluded, the detailed schedule has not yet been finalized. We kindly ask for your understanding, and we’ll share updates as quickly as possible once everything is confirmed.”
With talks ongoing for renewal, it’s only a matter of time before we get confirmation that Agent Kim Reactivated will return for season 2.
How has the series performed domestically and on Netflix?
Agent Kim Reactivated has been a smash hit both domestically in South Korea and internationally on Netflix.
In South Korea, the series launched with a nationwide viewership of 9.5%. By the eighth episode, the audience had grown exponentially to 23.1%. A huge success for the K-drama domestically.
As for Netflix, the series has also been a hit with audiences. Since its release on June 26, 2026, the series has spent 4 weeks on Netflix’s Non-English Global Top 10 list, ranking 1st for 3 of those weeks. In that time, the series has amassed 189.4 million viewing hours, which equates to 34.4 million completed views.
