5 Latest Releases To Watch On Netflix, Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video

From the Abhay Deol starrer Trial By Fire based on the real-life fire tragedy in Delhi’s Uphaar cinemas to the second installment of the cult film Drishyam, here are five OTT releases you can binge this weekend.
1> Trial By Fire (Netflix – January 13):-
Directed by Prashant Nair and Randeep Jha, the upcoming Netflix series Trial By Fire stars Abhay Deol and Rajshri Deshpande in the lead, along with Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla, and Shardul Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. The series is all set to premiere on the streaming giant Netflix on January 13, 2023. Based on the 1997 tragedy where a fire took over the Uphaar Cinema in Delhi, Trial By Fire is inspired by Neelam Krishnamoorthy and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy’s bestseller book Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy. Deol and Deshpande play the roles of Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, the couple who lost their two children to the tragedy and fought a long legal battle for justice for over two decades.
2> Drishyam 2 (Amazon Prime Video – January 13):-
Drishyam 2, the Hindi crime thriller film starring Ajay Devgan and Tabu, is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 13, 2023. Drishyam 2 is the sequel to the 2015 crime thriller Drishyam, a Hindi remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name. The film follows the story of a family man who takes desperate measures trying to save his family from the darker side of the law after they commit an unintentional crime.
3> Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 2 (Netflix – January 12):-
The second season of the American CG-animated television series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, a part of the Kung Fu Panda franchise, is set to premiere on Netflix on January 12, 2023. The series follows the giant Panda, Po, who is forced to leave his home and set out on a world-trotting quest across China for justice and redemption, a few years after the events of Kung Fu Panda 3 and Kung Fu Panda The Paws of Destiny.
4> Dog Gone (Netflix – January 13):-
Directed by Stephen Herek from a script by Nick Santora, Dog Gone is set to be released globally on Netflix on January 13, 2023. Based on the 2016 book by Paul’s Toutonghi, Dog Gone is a true story of finding a lost dog named Gonker. As the dog goes missing, its owner Fielding Marshall (Johnny Berchtold), and Fielding’s dad, John (Rob Lowe) kick off an epic quest as they set off to find it within two weeks as it needs medication to survive.
5> The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House (Netflix – January 12):-
The upcoming Japanese television show The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House is set to premiere on Netflix on January 12, 2023. The show follows two inseparable friends who move to Japan’s Kyoto city to chase their dreams of becoming maiko – a job that involves performing songs, dances, and playing traditional Japanese instruments for visitors during banquets and parties. However, later on, they decide to pursue different passions while living under the same roof.
