‘Hauntingly Beautiful’, Fans Are In Awe Of Qala Trailer Which Marks Irfan’s Son Babil Khan’s Debut
For months, fans of the late Irfan Khan had been anticipating the debut of his son Babil. On his part, the man of the hour would share little snippets of his preps and often talk about his journey of venturing into the acting world. The moment has finally arrived and the trailer of Babil Khan’s debut movie Qala has finally been released. Keeping him company is the beautiful and effervescent actress Triptii Dimri who was last seen in the Netflix movie Bulbul.
Deemed a psychological drama, Qala is set in the 1930s-40s and is the story of an eponymous young playback singer. Qala is at the peak of her success when her past comes visiting which causes her to unravel and spiral into the deep dark pit of anxiety and insecurity. Her dwindling relationship with her mother(played by Swastika Mukherjee) comes under the spotlight as does her upbringing which pushes her to the edge of neurosis. The trailer begins with visuals of her success and what it took for her to reach that level followed by her downfall which is instigated by the entry of a rival singer Jagan played by Babil Khan.
The psychological drama is helmed by Anvitha Dutt. Talking at the launch of the trailer, the director said, “To have my second directorial venture with Clean slate Filmz and Netflix feels wonderful. Qala is an emotional story set in the world of music. It is about a mother-daughter relationship, the pressures of fame, and what it can do to you. The trailer is a small glimpse of what is to come and I am looking forward to audiences immersing themselves into Qala`s world on December 1st. Our brilliant cast and crew have seen our vision while crafting this project. We truly hope to entertain viewers across the world through the world of Qala.” Ever since the trailer’s release, the internet is buzzing with praises. Fans can’t stop gushing about the music, Babil-Triptii’s phenomenal acting potential and the storytelling.
