Mohanlal plays wrestler in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Valiban, shoot starts in Jaisalmer. Exclusive details
The official announcement of the Mohanlal film Malaikottai Valiban was made on October 25 last year. Now, the film has gone on floors in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The movie is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, who is known for Angamaly Diaries (2017), Jallikattu (2019), and Churuli (2021). The director’s latest film starring Mammooty, titled Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, releases on January 20 in theatres.
ALL ABOUT MALAIKOTTAI VALIBAN:-
India Today has learned that Malayalam star Mohanlal flew from Dubai to Mumbai and then directly to the sets of the film in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Mohanlal is playing an aging wrestler named Chembothu Simon in the film and the shoot in Jaisalmer is a long schedule. Sources stated that most of the film is going to be shot there and the team is likely to be in Jaisalmer for nearly two to three months. Some parts of the film will be shot in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
Since Mohanlal plays a wrestler, he seems to have undergone extensive gym sessions with his trainer to muscle up. Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni and Hareesh Peradi are acting in the film with Mohanlal. Shibu Baby John’s John and Mary Creative along with Max Lab Cinemas and Century Films are producing this film. The cinematography of the film is by Madhu Neelakandan and the music is composed by Prashant Pillai.
MOHANLAL’s OTHER FILMS:-
As of now, Mohanlal has Lucifer 2 with Prithviraj Sukumaran and it is titled Empuraan. This will be bigger than the first film and fans are excited. Mohanal also has Drishyam 3 on the cards. Titled Drishyam 3: The Conclusion, this will be the last part of the Drishyam films.
The Malayalam star’s directorial debut, Barroz, has been delayed but it will hit theatres this year. Mohanlal plays a cameo in Rajinikanth’s film, Jailer, as well and has already finished the shoot for this film.
