Vikram Vedha movie review: Hrithik Roshan exudes starry nonchalance in rewarding, intelligent crime thriller.

It’s difficult to take your eyes away from Hrithik Roshan at any given point and I suspect a large part of that is because he proves how smart he can be as an actor, with Vikram Vedha. Starcast: Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Rohit Saraf, Sharib Hashmi, Radhika Apte

Director: Pushkar-Gayathri
Rating: 4 star

> If War proved one thing, it’s that there is no actor currently working in Hindi cinema who can sell swagger like Hrithik Roshan.
> I can’t recall a single actress with that Saif Ali Khan has shared the same amount of chemistry within the manner that he shares with Roshan here.
> Pushkar-Gayathri has the ability to notice when even the briefest of scenes can be turned into a moment.

The best thing to happen for Vikram Vedha, Pushkar & Gayathri’s Hindi remake of their own 2017 Tamil film, was Aamir Khan backing out of the film. Khan was reportedly set to play Vedha, the sly, smooth-talking gangster in the Bollywood iteration. But fate intertwined in the way that it usually does, leaving the makers with no other choice but to recast for the role of Vedha.

The result was the entry of Hrithik Roshan, arguably the film’s selling point and its biggest weapon. If War (2019) proved one thing, it’s that there is no actor currently working in Hindi cinema who can sell swagger like Roshan. The actor exudes a star-making nonchalance that isn’t only capable of lighting up a screen but in fact, totally consuming it. Vikram Vedha is the most relaxed Roshan has ever been in front of the camera and the film’s intense two-hero act gains from it immensely.
