Shahid Kapoor is an Indian actor who primarily appears in Hindi films. He was born on February 25, 1981, to Indian actors Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem. His initial roles in Hindi films created his chocolate boy image, and he became well-known for playing romantic roles.

He started off as a background dancer for Hindi films and, later on, was featured in music videos and television commercials. He joined Shiamak Davar’s dancing institute and has worked as a background dancer in films like Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and Taal (1999). He made his film debut in 2003 with a leading role in the romantic comedy film Ishq Vishk, for which he won the Filmfare award for best male debut. His other successful hits include Vivah (2006), Jab We Met (2007), Kaminey (2009), Badmaash Company (2010), and R Rajkumar (2012). The actor won several awards for his performance in Haider (2014).

The actor was next seen in Shaandaar, which was released in 2015 but was unsuccessful at the box office. In 2016, he was featured in Udta Punjab as drug-addicted rock star Tommy Singh and received high acclaim from critics and audiences for his performance in the movie. His 2019 release includes Kabir Singh, and the film proved to be his biggest commercial success. He then appeared in the remake of the Tamil sports movie Jersey (2022). Farzi, the web series starring Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, is remarked as his OTT debut on Amazon Prime, which got released on February 10, 2023. Kapoor will next star in Ali Abbas Zafar’s action film Bloody Daddy, a remake of the French film Sleepless Night (2011), and in the yet-untitled film opposite Kriti Sanon.

Shahid Kapoor got married to his girlfriend Mira Rajput in 2015. A year later, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Misha, and in 2018, they welcomed a son named Zain.
